What is Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)?
Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle but powerful hands-on therapy that interacts with the whole body system on many levels. It is particularly helpful as a holistic healing approach to injury, trauma, nervous system, and physiological-emotional issues. It aims to facilitate the expression of health and relieve pain or tension that are held in the body as a result of physical or emotional stress and trauma.
It works by actively supporting our body’s own capacity for healing and repair and acknowledges the interconnectedness of mind, body and spirit by working with the whole person. In biodynamics we do not impose a plan from the outside. We listen and support the body away from unease and towards health, allowing the individual’s system to set the pace at which work progresses and the order in which change occurs. Given the right relationship and with enough resources, the intelligence in the body will choose the best way to heal.
Craniosacral Therapy has its roots in the discoveries made by Osteopath Dr. W.G. Sutherland in the late 1800s. He developed an approach known as the “Cranial Concept”. Since then it has been refined and extended into a profound, gentle and effective way of working with the whole body to become the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy we know today.
Benefits
After a series of sessions many people notice an improvement in their symptoms and feel recharged and a greater sense of well-being. They may experience a resolution of the issue presented for treatment and the added bonus of having more energy and resilience in their bodies.
You may also gain more clarity about the direction in your life and a movement away from old patterns. Many people report feeling less stressed, calmer and more relaxed as a result of treatment.
BCST may be beneficial for a multitude of conditions and is suitable for people of all ages, from newborns to the elderly.
People who have had BCST treatments often make the following comments about how they feel after sessions:
